Carved keystones, unidentified, probably Edinburgh School of Art
The photograph shows a series of carved stone keystones.
The furniture on which they are laid; wooden desks with a single drawer below and a metal support frame at the rear, suggest this is not a mason's yard.
This is further indicated by the larger plaster casts of architectural ornament at the right, the wooden block seating in foreground, and the back walls covered in dark drapes.
This would appear therefore to be one of the sculpture and modelling classrooms in the Edinburgh School of Art in the Royal Institution Building on The Mound, Edinburgh, formerly the Trustees' Academy.
Bose was a student there between 1905 and 1908.
