Queensferry #2
Artist: Kay, Archibald, RSA · 1860-1935
The view looks West along West Terrace (the main street) with the prominent Tolbooth tower at foreground left.
The work is an important record of the appearance of the street in the nineteenth century. The building to the left of the Tolbooth was demolished and replaced in 1897 by an extension to the Tolbooth tower.
The little crow-stepped gabled cottage at the far end of the road has also long since been demolished.
