Queensferry #1
Artist: Kay, Archibald, RSA · 1860-1935
The view looks East along the main street with the prominent Tolbooth tower at foreground right.
The work is an important record of the appearance of the street in the nineteenth century. The buildings on either immediate side of the Tolbooth have since been demolished and replaced with unsympathetic structures out of keeping wit he vernacular architecture of the street.
