Faed's original painting was exhibited at the RSA Annual Exhibition in 1863 (cat.430) lent by the Scots born submarine communications cables investor [Sir] John Pender, MP, (1816-96) who entered Parliament in 1862 [to 1866] as Liberal MP for Totnes in Devon,and hung in the Great Room

the work was engraved exclusively for the subscriber members of RAPFAS for the year 1864
