Woman with Second Sight
Creator: Cumming, James William Hunter, RSA · 1922-1991
The artist spent a number of years living on the Island of Lewis where he taught art. Whilst there he became obsessed with local traditions and was profoundly affected by a link through the population to the first peoples to inhabit the island. This interest in the broader origins of life eventually becoming a major focus in his work.
