Moorland Landscape With White Clouds and Reflections
Artist: Gillies, William George, Sir, CBE RA RSA PPRSW · 1898-1973
Gillies is looking from the West to the East possibly from very close to Kaim Wood. Dundreich is the highest point of the far hills.
The harder line across the centre could be the dyke along the Meldon Road - the road out of Eddleston to the West of the A 703 which runs past Hattonknowe and Wormiston. The main road the A 703 is down by the wiggly trees.
This was a popular spot for Gillies who also executed both a pencil drawing and an oil painting of the Peebles Train from this same spot or slightly to the North, closer to Eddleston.
