Robertson, Andrew
1777 – 1845
Born in Aberdeen the younger brother of fellow artists Archibald and Alexander Robertson. Like them Andrew studied a the Royal Academy Schools in London having been assisted and encouraged by Raeburn and Nasmyth. He travelled to France in 1815 and was best known for his miniature portraits. His daughter Emily edited his early letters and papers which were published in a volume in 1895 a copy of which is held in the RSA Library (L.2024.0037)
