McManus, Nicola

Originally from Edinburgh, McManus relocated to Aberdeen graduating with first class honours in painting from Gray's in 2021. In her final year of study, she was nominated for, and won the Freeland’s Painting Prize, leading to a solo exhibition in London during Autumn 2021. Following her graduation, a piece from her degree show collection was awarded the Robert Gordon University Heritage and Archive Collection Purchase Prize. She was the recipient of an RSA John Kinross Travel Scholarship in 2021, travelling to Florence in 2022 where she continued to research and expand her current practice. In 2023 she travelled to West Australia to live and work for several months, returning to Scotland in January 2024.
