Hartrick, Archibald Standish, OBE RSW
1864 – 1950
Hartrick does not appear to have ever been a student at the RSA Life School.
He was educated at Fettes College and Edinburgh University before studying under Alfons Legros at The Slade in London (1884-85) and in Paris under Boulanger and Cormon (1886-7) . In the summer of 1886 Hartrick stayed at Pont Aven in Brittany where he met Paul Gauguin.
He exhibited at the RSA sporadically between 1888 and 1926.
He was the author of several student handbooks including introductions to printmaking and drawing
