Burnet, James M
1784 – 1816
The younger brother of the engraver turned writer John Burnet HRSA (1784-1868). Studied under John Graham at the Trustees Academy in Edinburgh and had established his reputation as a painter of cattle before following his brother to London in 1810.He exhibited at the RA in 1812, 1813 and 1814 from 26 St George's Row, Chelsea. He is thinly disguised as "Knox" in his brother's book "Progress of a Painter in the Nineteenth century."
