Davison, Thomas Raffles

1853 – 1937

Thomas Raffles Davison was a very accomplished Architect and draughtsman who served as Editor of the magazine 'The British Architect and Northern Engineer' (1878-1916) and produced drawings for a number of Scottish architects including Hippolyte Blanc, James Bow Dunn and Sir George Washington Browne. Writing of him in 1927, Sir Aston Webb commented; β€œTo architects he has been known for nearly half a century for his peculiar power in transferring their elevations and sections into perspective form, not only understandable by the layman but truthfully portraying the design of the architect.”
