Bryce, Gordon, RSA

b. 1943

Gordon Bryce studied at Edinburgh College of Art under Sir Robin Philipson and Sir William Gillies. In 1965 he won the RSA Chalmers Bursary and the Keith Prize in 1967. He became Head of Fine Art at Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen in 1968 having initially taught printmaking at the school. He resigned from this post in 1995. In 1984 he was the recipient of the Sir William Gillies Travelling Scholarship and travelled to Italy to study Renaissance art in Siena, Rome, Florence, Milan and Venice. He has exhibited at the RSA from 1964, he became an Associate Member of the RSA in 1976 and an Academician in 1993.
