Walker, Frances, CBE RSA RSW D.Litt Hon FECA

b. 1930

Frances Walker trained at Edinburgh College of Art and at Moray House College of Education in Edinburgh. She spent a period as a visiting art teacher at schools in the Western Isles before moving to Aberdeen where she proceeded to teach drawing and painting at Gray's School of Art. In addition to painting she is also involved in printmaking. Her work tends to focus on the Aberdeen area and also on Tiree and Orkney. She has exhibited at the RSA from 1960, she became an Associate Member of the RSA in 1970 and an Academician in 1983.
