Miller II, James, RSA
1893 – 1987
Trained at Glasgow School of Art as a part time student then as a full time student from 1910 under Maurice Griefenhagen. In 1913 he won a travelling scholarship travelling to London and Paris. He then became the Drawing master at Hillhead High School for thirty years. In 1949 he retired from this post and proceeded to travel extensively in Europe painting architectural studies largely in watercolours. He exhibited extensively at the RSA Annual Exhibitions from 1921 until 1986. He became an Associate Member of the RSA in 1943 and an Academcian in 1964.
