Henry, George
"The portrait is somewhat slight and I can only guess that it might be of George Henry a mature student at Dundee about the same time as Bill [Littlejohn]. He was employed in the office of Francis Webster & Sons the sailcloth manufacturers, left to study at art school, persisted as a professional artist for a few years and eventually returned to Websters.
There was a joint exhibition at Arbroath Art Gallery in March 1951 of the works of George Grassie, George Henry and Bill [Littlejohn]opened by James Cowie. Cowie was a significant influence and friend of the three artists and actively encouraged George Grassie and George Henry to fulfil their potential and enrol at art school." (information supplied by a close friend of William Hunter Littlejohn RSA, in an e-mail communication to RSA Documentation Officer, 2014-12-07)
