Dunbar, Lennox, RSA

b. 1952

Born in Aberdeen, Dunbar trained at Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen (1969 - 1974) including post graduate studies at Hospitalfield House, Arbroath in 1973, before travelling in Europe. He was the Visiting Artist/Tutor at Louisiana State University & University of Kansas in 1986. In 1987 he became Head of Printmaking at Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen, later becoming Emeritus Professor of Fine Art. He has won many awards including the Prize of the Municipal Art Museum, Gyor, Hungary; International Print Biennale, Varna, Bulgaria; and the Shell Premier Award. He became an Associate Member of the RSA in 1990 and an Academician in 2005.
