Morrocco, Alberto, RSA
1917 – 1998
Born to Italian parents. Entered Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen at the age of 14. Served in the army from 1940 and taught at Gray's School of Art from 1946. Morrocco became head of the School of Drawing and Painting at Dundee Art College in 1950 and continued there until 1983. He exhibited at the RSA Annual Exhibitions from 1939 until 1994. He was elected an Associate Member of the Royal Scottish Academy in 1951 and an Academician in 1962. His wife Vera Morrocco was an artist as is his son Leon Morrocco RSA.
