Gauld, David, RSA
1867 – 1936
Originally an apprentice lithographer and then a stained glass designer for Guthrie and Wells. Spent a period producing newspaper illustrations. Possibly studied art in the evenings at Glasgow School of Art. Associated with the Glasgow Boys, and visited Grez in 1896. In 1936 he became Director of Design at Glasgow School of Art. He exhibited at the RSA Annual Exhibitions from1905 until 1935 and exhibited prolifically at the RGI. He became an Associte Member of the RSA in 1918 and an Academican in 1924.
