No biographical details have been traced. Possibly related to Ernest Lionel Allhusen (1875-1943) a Gateshead born doctor and writer on printmaking. He contributed an article on Edmund Blampied's prints to the Print Collectors' Quarterly in 1926 and is also cited in the acknowledgements page of E S Lumsden's The Art of Etching (1924) for the loan of books and for his observations on Lumsden's draft. E L Allhusen died in Edinburgh in 1943 and a collection of 450 books inlcuding works on pritntmaking was acquired after his death by the National Library of Scotland.
