Atkinson, Thomas Lewis

1817 – 1898

Atkinson was a reproductive engraver and a pupil of Samuel Cousins. Working mainly in mezzotint his preferred subject matter was portraits although he also executed plates after paintings by Sir J E Millais PPRA and Sir George Harvey PPRSA amongst others. He is represented by nearly fifty works in the National Portrait Gallery in London.
