Shanks, Duncan F, RSA

b. 1937

Duncan Shanks studied at Glasgow School of Art from 1955 travelling to Italy in 1960 on a post diploma scholarship. He proceeded to work as a part time lecturer at Glasgow School of Art from 1961 until 1979. His work which consists largely of landscapes tends to focus on the Clyde valley in Lanarkshire where he resides. He has exhibited at the RSA from 1970, he became an Associate Member of the RSA in 1972 and an Academician in 1990.
