Thomson, William John, RSA

1771 – 1845

William John Thomson was born of Scottish Parentage and was brought to Edinburgh by his father. He later removed to London and exhibited at the Royal Academy. He returned to Edinburgh in 1812. He specialised in miniatures working predominantly in watercolour. He became a Royal Scottish Academician in 1829 and he exhibited at the RSA from 1830 until 1843.
