Fozard, Richard [Dick]
1925 – 2000
Painter and printmaker; apprenticed in 1939 to the lithographers Gilchrist Brothers who sent him to evening classes in life drawing and design; served in the Royal Navy in WWII; studied at the Leeds College of Art and RCA under Robert Austin; awarded Prix de Rome scholarship and went for three years to Italy; upon his return in 1956 worked at the RCA printmaking department under Julian Trevelyan; collaborated with S W Hayter in Paris; 1961 taught at Hornsey College of Art which merged with (later) University of Middlesex and remained there until 1986 lecturing part-time.(biography from BM website, which holds 4 examples of Fozard’s work).
