The 1809-10 and 1810-11 Directories give him at 16 York Place, and between 1811-12 and 1813-14 he is at 35 York Place. He is first listed inthe Directory for 1798-99 and from then through to 1808-09 he is at Head of Calton. He may be related (?son) to John Thomson, carver & gilder, Cowgate-head who is listed by the 1790 Directory through to at least 1800-01.
