Maclean, Will, Professor, MBE RSA RSW RGI

b. 1941

Educated at Inverness Royal Academy them served as a sailor from 1957 until 1959. Studied at Gray's School of Art from 1961 until 1965 and spent a post graduate year at Hospitalfield House. He trained as a teacher in 1969 at Dundee College of Education and in 1971 became a Secondary School teacher in Cupar. In 1981 he became a Senior Lecturer in Fine Art at Duncan of Jordanstone in Dundee. He has exhibited at the RSA from 1976, he became an Associate Member of the RSA in1978 and an Academician in 1991. Because of his marine and North Sea heritage his work focuses predominantly on these elements.
