Anderson, James Bell, RSA

1886 – 1938

Born in Edinburgh and educated at Bo'ness Academy. Trained at the RSA School and pursued postgraduate studies at Hospitalfield House, Arbroath under tutelage of George Harcourt before studying at the Academie Julian in Paris. Settled in Glasgow and established himself as a portrait painter. Exhibited at the RSA Annual Exhibitions from 1910 until 1938 and was elected an Associate of the RSA in 1932 and an Academician in 1937.
