McGlashan and Wilding

Short-lived partnership between Alexander McGlashan (b.Bridport, Hampshire 1815, d.2 Sciennes, Edinburgh 1877-12-02) and William Wilding, as engravers and lithographic printers at 26 Clyde Street, Edinburgh. The partnership is first listed in the Edinburgh PO Directory for 1851-52 and last recorded ditto 1857-58. The 1850-51 PO Directory records McGlashan as an engraver and lithographic printer at 26 Clyde Street and Wilding as a copperplate printer at 6 Hanover Street. After 1857-58 both men ar elisted separately, McGlashan still at 26 Clyde Street, and Wilding acxross the road at no.23. McGlashan worked for a while with David Octavius Hill RSA and was a phootgrapher in his own right.
